Spa Bath Buying Guide

Drop in vs corner vs back to wall

The installation type determines how the spa bath sits in your bathroom and what framing or cabinetry surrounds it. A drop in spa bath is set into a tiled or timbered surround with only the rim visible above the deck, giving a seamless built-in look that works well in larger bathrooms. Corner spa baths fit into a bathroom corner and are available in left hand and right hand orientations, which refers to which side the backrest faces when you are sitting in the bath. Back to wall baths have a flat back panel that sits flush against the wall with the front and sides exposed, delivering a freestanding-style look without requiring the full floor clearance of a true freestanding bath.

Hydrotherapy jets — what to expect

All spa baths in this range include a combination of hydro jets and air jets. Hydro jets deliver a focused, pressurised water massage suited to muscle relief and targeted areas. Air jets produce a gentler, all-over bubbling sensation. Having both systems lets you choose between a vigorous hydrotherapy session and a softer, relaxing soak.

Size and bathroom planning

Spa baths are larger and heavier than standard baths and require planning around both floor space and plumbing access. Allow enough clearance on at least one long side for entry and exit, and confirm that your floor structure can support the added weight of a filled bath. Our team at either showroom can advise on rough-in requirements and installation considerations before you purchase.

Spa Bath FAQ

All hydrotherapy spa baths in this range come with the jet system and motor included. You will need a licensed plumber and electrician to connect the water supply, waste and power.

A spa bath sits on its own base and frame, so underfloor heating beneath it is generally not effective or recommended. Underfloor heating works best in the open tiled areas surrounding the bath.

Left hand and right hand refer to the orientation of the backrest. If you stand at the open end of the bath facing in, a left hand bath has the backrest on your left, and a right hand bath has it on your right. This determines which bathroom corner the bath fits into, so confirm your layout before ordering.
